A graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design, Jason worked in advertising and taught painting and design at Centennial College, before devoting himself full-time in 1992 as an independent visual artist.
He has participated in numerous solos and group exhibitions in Canada and the United States. His paintings are found in such notable private collections as the Royal Bank of Canada, Canadian Imperial Bank of Canada, Motorola of Dallas and IBM in Atlantic. Among his most satisfying achievements is a 35foot painting on a Mediacom billboard that toured across Canada from 1995-1997. Commissioned by Covenant House and Nike Canada, the work is titled "The Street is No Place for our Children To Live".
Jason's artistic style has been compared to the work of the Impressionist and Fauvist painters. His recent work with its intense colours, strong patterns and skewed perspectives references the work of Matisse. In Jason's compositions the flat surface of the canvas becomes a multi-layered tableau and although the scenes depicted border on the surreal, he is able to maintain a sense of connection between the work and the observer.
Since 1995 Jason's signature paintings have garnered increasing popularity, critical acclaim and growing demand. These images capture the physical and emotional spirit of an imaginary world and invoke the imagination that takes you on a journey through a vibrant modern landscape. They delight the eye and appeal to anyone with an appreciation for highly energized representational art.
Prestigious corporations, charitable organizations and many individuals have sought Jason's paintings for the exhilaration and thought provoking dynamics created from the shear energy depicted on canvas. Jason currently is selling his paintings in private galleries and art organizations throughout North America.
